The 2016 Philanthropy Awards Dinner will be held on Thursday, November 3rd at the South Central Indiana - REMC in Martinsville. This event will celebrate the spirit of giving and the accomplishments of leaders in the local non-profit community. Dinner will begin at 6pm, followed by a tallk from this year's keynote speaker,  an awards ceremony will directly follow recognizing 2016 Philanthropy Award honorees, CFMC Grant recipients, and 2017 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Finalists.

2015 Philanthropy Award Dinner  

The 2nd Annual Philanthropy Dinner was hosted by the Community Foundation of Morgan County on Thursday, November 5th at the Art Sanctuary of Indiana in Martinsville. Curt Simik, presented an engaging talk on philanthropy in Indiana, and our 2015-2016 CFMC Arts & Matching Grants recipients were recognized.

The 2015 Philanthropy Award winners are dedicated members of the community who have benefited the Morgan County through their tireless efforts were honored. 

 

Curt Simic, Key Note Speaker

The Community Foundation of Morgan County is pleased to announce that Curt Simic, President Emeritus of the Indiana University Foundation, will be speaking at the 2nd Annual Philanthropy Awards Dinner.

Simic, a 1964 graduate of Indiana University Bloomington, has had one of the most distinguished careers in the history of American higher education philanthropy. The winner of several top awards from national organizations, he served for 20 record-breaking years as I.U. Foundation president, following leadership roles at five distinguished universities, including Yale, Oregon, and the University of California Berkeley. Over the decades, he has worked tirelessly, giving of his time and talents to countless institutions and organizations. He has won numerous accolades from his alma mater, including the Distinguished Alumni Service Award, the University Medal – and from the State, the Sagamore of the Wabash. He also won the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

Thank you for making our inaugural Philanthropy Dinner a success!

The inaugural Philanthropy Dinner was hosted by the Community Foundation of Morgan County on Thursday, November 6th at the Art Sanctuary of Indiana in Martinsville. Craig Fenneman, presented an engaging talk on philanthropy in Indiana, and our 2014 CFMC Arts & Matching Grants recipients were recognized. Additionally,  members of the community who have benefited the Morgan County through their tireless efforts were honored.
