Supporting local is what keeps our community alive!
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at the Community Foundation of Morgan County. Thanksgiving is a time of year to celebrate our blessings and spend time with those we love. In Morgan County leaves are beginning to change color, the sun glistens through the trees with morning dew, and the deer are running wild. Just like every season in our community, we live, work, and play in one of the most beautiful places on earth!
While seasonal depression, stress of the holiday season, and the stresses of everyday life can weigh heavy on our hearts this time of year, I ask you to think about all you have been given. Morgan County is no exception, we have been given many special attributes! Our community is the birthplace of Martinsville Candy Kitchen, Waverly Park, Tomato Pie, and so much more. Although the hustle and bustle of the season can cause stress, take time this season to enjoy locally! When you feel stressed, try taking a walk at one of our local parks; when you want to celebrate and shop for the holidays, try a local specialty shop or buy a gift card to a local eatery. Supporting local is what keeps our community alive!
CFMC is committed to improving the quality of life in Morgan County and it begins with being thankful for the blessings in our community. To find all things local to support our community, VisitMorganCounty.org.
Wishing all of you the joy of the season!
CFMC President
