Grant Update: Introducing One Button Studio at Monrovia Middle School and High School

We are happy to partner with the Community Foundation of Morgan County to build our One-Button Studio at Monrovia Middle School and High School. The studio will give middle school and high school students the ability to build presentations and communication skills through continued practice and reflection. The studio will be set up in a way that will allow students to easily walk in, plug in their device, follow a simple checklist, and have a quality presentation done in a matter of minutes. We want to thank the Community Foundation and its partners for giving our students this opportunity.

The presentations students will be working on may be school wide announcements, classroom projects, or presentations for our community. Students will have the ability to take the simple preset settings and have it ready to go, or they may learn more about the technology to build more elaborate presentations, depending on their needs, skills, and interest. We are excited to put these tools in front of students and see what they will do, beyond what we are currently expecting.

This studio is part of a larger project here at Monrovia, which is to engage more students with hands-on learning and give students more authentics audiences. We have many changes coming to our district as we work to make sure that students are prepared for life after high school. This partnership with the Community Foundation has served as a catalyst to get one more of those steps done as we continue to build makerspaces and create more hands-on learning opportunities for our students here at Monroe-Gregg School District. We are always open to making connections and finding partnerships, so we would love to talk to you if you are interested in partnering with us as well.

Again, we want to thank the Community Foundation for the work they do in Morgan County, to help students and the community at large. We also want to thank them and their partners for this grant opportunity and partnering with us to help create positive experiences for students. Our hope is that through projects like these, students will build skills that will prepare them to succeed on their next step of their journey.
