Celebrating Excellence: CFMC Achieves Accreditation from The Community Foundations National Standards® Program

With the turn of the year now in our rearview mirror, we are intensely recruiting for our women’s and men’s giving circles, celebrating our Lilly Scholarship finalists, and watching the economic development efforts in Morgan County.  Amidst all this, CFMC recently received notification of our accreditation by The Community Foundations National Standards® program.

The task of requesting the National Standards board to review and approve our policies is daunting. The accreditation symbol indicates CFMC’s policies demonstrate a commitment to transparency, quality, integrity and accountability as it carries out its mission.

The Community Foundations National Standards® program requires community foundations to document their policies for donor services, investments, grantmaking and administration. With over 500 community foundations already accredited nationwide, the program is designed to provide quality assurance to donors, as well as to their legal and financial advisors.  We are very proud to offer this layer of protection and prestige to our donors, fund advisors, nonprofits, and business partners as they entrust us with the responsibility of managing donations, growing funds, and supporting the needs of our nonprofits.  CFMC reflects Morgan County, and this is a big win for all of us!
