Dax’s Dream Fund – 1077

Fund Type: Passthrough Scholarship Fund

Fund Description:

Dax’s Dream Fund Mission: To cultivate big and small joys for young adults living with cancer

Purpose: The purpose of the fund shall be to provide monetary grants to thoughtful and worthy efforts toward providing times of support, warmth, caring and joy to individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 who are courageously living with the challenges and uncertain futures associated with a serious cancer diagnosis.

History: Dax was 21 when he was diagnosed with Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST), a rare form of cancer. He spent his 20’s living with this disease while trying to navigate a “normal” young adult life. Dax was able to graduate from Indiana University with a double major, follow his passions in the workplace, and still have fun with family and friends (probably too much ;)).

In the spirit of keeping this short and sweet, Dax emulated integrity, enthusiasm, kindness, and in his own words, “badass-ness.” Dax passed away three days before his 31st birthday.

To honor Dax’s journey and his desire to always put others first, Dax’s Dream Fund was born.
