Preference also is given to female students or students with at least average academic achievement. The student must be graduating from Indian Creek High School but can reside in any county.

History: The Emily Downey Memorial Fund was established in 2012 to honor the memory of Emily Downey, a former Indian Creek student-athlete. Emily Downey was a wonderful student, athlete, daughter, sister, and friend. Her personality was luminescent, and her smile will never be forgotten. This scholarship was created by her friend to honor her memory and ensure that it will live on long after the class of 2009. Emily changed many lives, and it is with this scholarship that we hope to change much more. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but her love left memories that sadness could never steal.
