Fund Description:

To provide the technical, financial, and educational assistance needed to implement economically and environmentally compatible land and water stewardship decisions, practices, and technologies; and perform this work in a variety of ways by providing education

Purpose: The mission of the Morgan County Soil and Water Conservation District (MCSWCD) is to provide technical, financial, and educational assistance needed to implement economically and environmentally compatible land and water stewardship decisions, practices, and technologies.

This organization serves youth and adult residents of Morgan County and Central Indiana within their targeted audience, including, but not limited to the farming community, agriculture, agribusiness, citizen scientists, schools and classrooms that meet Indiana state standards, private and homeschool groups, scouting groups, local organizations and clubs.

Planting Seeds for Future Generations

Morgan County SWCD has created a list of funding goals to facilitate our ability to foster and promote environmental education and stewardship.

  • Scholarship funding to support environmental education for underprivileged students and families residing in Morgan County.
  • Scholarship funding for county residents for field trip expenses which focus solely on the environment.
  • Cost share funding for best stewardship practices to improve the quality of soil, water and the environment for the benefit of future generations.
  • Technology equipment.
  • Education supplies: field guides, hand lenses, nets, backpacks, replicas, shovels, rakes, seeds, etc.
