Ready Set Quit Tobacco Grant – 1093
Fund Type: Passthrough Fund
Purpose: Funds donated to the Ready Set Quit Tobacco Fund will go to promote a better quality of life for Morgan County citizens by reducing tobacco use through education and outreach.
Our goal is to create and maintain an infrastructure to lower tobacco use by partnering with community leaders, businesses and organizations to reach out to groups most impacted by tobacco.
The Ready Set Quit Tobacco coalition holds monthly meetings (except July & December) to discuss ways to reduce tobacco use and keep Ready Set Quit Tobacco moving forward in Morgan County. If you would like to attend a coalition meeting, please contact Jennifer Walker, Program Director for more information.
Coalition activities include hosting Town Hall meetings, presentations to civic organizations, businesses, and the faith community. We promote public education through radio public service announcements, facebook, blogs, and letters to the editor. We help promote the Great American Smoke Out and Parents Against Youth Smoking(PAYS) scholarship program.
History: Established in February 2008, Ready Set Quit Tobacco is a coalition of community leaders, organizations and businesses that promote a better quality of life for Morgan County citizens by reducing tobacco use through education and outreach.
