ATTENTION ALL 501(c)(3) NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS: CFMC is currently organizing 2 giving circles in Morgan County – 100+ Women Who Care and Guys Who Give. Several counties have successfully launched these giving circle initiatives, and we too want to bring this supportive network to our local nonprofits who are making Morgan County a better place to live.
THIS IS HOW IT WORKS: Guys Who Give will convene every quarter, and within an hour and a half will give away thousands of dollars with no strings attached to the dollars. Each member commits $500 annually paid in $100 increments. The $100 membership fee goes to an endowment fund at CFMC as a forever fund, and the other $400 is used as grant money for the winning non-profit organizations who wins the most votes at the quarterly meetings. Members are encouraged to bring a guest. All donations to this group will be TRIPLED this year with Lilly matching funds. Several counties are doing this with great success. Help us bring this successful group to Morgan County.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR NONPROFITS? Members will nominate, advocate, and vote for their favorite nonprofits at each quarterly meeting. Three nonprofits will be pulled from a hat. The nominating members will each have 5 minutes to make a “sales pitch” on behalf of the nonprofit. If a nonprofit wants to send a representative, that person must be a member. Members vote by ballot immediately following the presentations and the winner is announced that night. A check presentation is scheduled for 2 weeks following the event.
